Ramesh’s presentation was pretty intense to sink in all at once. It was pretty mind blown that there in a process of making a camera that can catch the speed of light which is awesome. Im curious on how they came across the formula on how they can produce such technology to keep up with the speed of light. When I was in astronomy, the unit on “speed of light” was probably the most difficult to comprehend because of all the equations that was involved, so I don’t know how the thought process comes to mind on such a topic. I agree with a lot of my classmates that I don’t know how this process applies to photography, but I do know that photography can capture the speed of light depending on how strong the light source is and what you can use to capture it. For an example, I did a photo shoot for an production company using those really strong green lasers that basically can make someone blind with two mirrors and made light trails. Even without the camera capturing crisp trails, you can even see the trail just by looking in between the mirrors. The only thing that a still can’t capture is light moving through mid air, which is were the Ramesh’s project comes into play and catches the lights movement. I think that photography will always be around, but as the years go by digital is going to knock out alternative processes, which is a shame. Even if processing film negatives was still around in the future , I think that the price for chemicals and film in general is going to go through the roof and its going to be really rare to find the products because so many companies are going to stop making it. As technology becomes more and more advance our world is becoming lazy and people are going to loose their jobs because a machine, more like robot will be doing all the work. If you think filming and taking photographs is mainstream now, wait 10 years maybe even less, everyone one on earth will know how to be a professional photographer and know how to make a professional video. Hopefully it doesn’t happen that soon because I want to be able to have a successful career without the trouble of having more competition even though it has already begun especially with film and photography almost combining making stills as pictures.
here is some photos from my one shoot I mentioned in my blog:

I really like the whole overlay, moving image, and retouching techniques that we learned in class and I would like to some how combined all these but on a physical piece. I was thinking about printing a photograph of a beauty shot that is retouched on canvas and extending it using a touch of overlays and moving images. Also I might add a little touch of painting mediums to add on to the piece to challenge myself more by trying to figure out how I can make so many mediums all work together when I never made a multimedia piece before, it will be something different :)
